A very droll film. The soundtrack was smooth of used songs from earlier Elvis LPs (to preserve the film’s budget at a minimum) . Elvis looks stout and Jocelyn Lane looks unbelievable. In my view (along with many others), Jocelyn was the prettiest costar Elvis ever had. Julie Adams is very elegant as the “older” woman. Practically all of the women in the film are hot (and there are loads of groovy gals) . In fact–although not intending to be–”Tickle Me” remains one of the best children’s pictures ever. I certainly couldn’t regain enough of it when it played at the local theater when I was in grade school. I went wait on to view it again five times! What can I say? Puberty calling! [filmfactsman]

I tended to forget the alive to response of that Saturday matinee audience wait on in ‘65 and my enjoyment hearing many terrific Presley songs for the first time (small did I know then that only one was recorded specifically for the flick - and that one was a RERECORDING!) and absorb many critics appraisal of the recount, which led me to dismiss it as another unworthy E.P. vehicle. Well, a few years befriend I gave it a second chance and found it to be a well-put together, kindly slapstick comedy for the whole family - not really: despite the middle-aged actors in ghost getups and the many comical witness gags, it remains in the “adult” category (even though my Warner Home Video does not include the frightful line I purchase from earlier viewings) . Anyway, the ladies-only health spa/dude ranch setting leads to some fairly salty dialogue (one scene involves an embrace with his boss Julie Adams, whose friendly performance also has been overlooked, leading to an current Elvis audience aside, or camera discover, which is very consuming) . The writers also give Elvis a chance to kind of scramble fun at his shroud character: in an early scene he relates to a bar owner that his job fell through and he’s out of work. The guy reaches for a GEEtar, hands it to Elvis, who says “…I know”. It’s lustrous! Later in the film, in a nice dream sequence with Elvis and Jocelyn Lane in faded time Western gear, he AGAIN satirizes the proceedings. These bits and pieces need to be noticed more. Yes, Elvis’ comedic abilities are well projected in this formula flick - it’s his best comedy acting since “Follow That Dream”.

Perfect (as long as you have an electrician on hand to wire it)1
This little printer sounds terrific, doesn’t it? When it first arrived I was delighted: it’s lightweight and compact, perfect for travel. Here is what they don’t tell you in the product description: It doesn’t come with a battery, nor a charger cable! You have to buy those separately, can you believe it? Oh, but it comes with a 12V Car Adapter to “allow you to operate your PocketJet printer from a vehicle source of power” so all is well, right? Wrong! Read the fine print about this (oh wait, there insn’t any in the product description…” It comes with a hard-wired version of the above, the installation of which “should only be performed by qualified service peronnel” AKA an electritian. If you (like me) happen not to be an electrician and don’t know what this means, I’ll describe it to you: The nice little plug that goes into the printer is at the end of long wires that are just that, wires. No way to plug them into anything without an electrician to attach a car ignitian adapter to the wires. This is a joke, right? I only wish it was. So, let’s recap:

The printer is cute but arrives with no battery and no means by which to charge it.

Oh, and this whole thing is made in China (if that matters to you).

Good Grade B ’50s sci-fi flick. An atomic size octopus from the deepest realms of the Pacific threatens the world. Seeking adequate levels of food supply, not excluding humans, the creature attacks San Francisco. The dependable star of this movie is the razzle-dazzle special effects of Ray Harryhausen. The quality of the stop-motion animation exceeds the constraints of the B&W photography and the modest budget. The first fraction of the film tells of the mysterious ship sinking and other unexplained marine mayhem caused by the tremendous sea beast. Navy Captain Pete Mathews (Kenneth Tobey) and two expert marine-biologists, John Carter (Donald Curtis) and Lesley Joyce (Faith Domergue), work around the clock tracking down clues to identify the source of the mysterious events at sea. The simple region moves moral along and doesn’t ruin time. As seems obligatory in many ’50s sci-fi flicks, the heroes endure the “I’m telling you, there’s a monster!” phase followed by the “Yeah, apt!” response from the authorities. Happily, that particular cliche is kept to a minimum. Things really launch to go snap, crackle, and pop as the frightening octopus tries to pull itself up on the Golden Gate Bridge. And check out the giant notice that opens as the submarine approaches the submerged creature in the San Francisco harbor. This is solid Saturday afternoon at the movies fun for 12 year-olds of all ages. They really don’t accomplish them like this anymore.

My Dad was a young and graceful Naval submarine officer stationed in San Francisco at the time the movie was being made, and he was asked to play the piece of the executive officer, Lt. Griff. It was his one and only movie. My family and I got to visit the site and meet the stars, including the proper octopus. (Very miniature) .

Dad was presented with an electric dishwasher as a gift for his portion in the film since the Navy would not let him gather money and my mother felt we really needed a dishwasher. My brother and I were in elementary school when the movie finally made it to the local theater in Kailua, Oahu two years later and we got to peep out dad’s name up on the gargantuan camouflage. None of the other children sitting in the audience for that Saturday matinee believed us. The movie is collected a hit at Griffiths family reunions. Dad is now 82, and retired from the Navy with the inferior of Vice Admiral.

Customer Reviews:

Great camera, just be aware of its pros/cons4
This is a great ultracompact camera. You just have to be sure it’s right for you.

PROS:
1. It’s optical image stabilization feature really does work, and works well. 2. Flash range is acceptable for a camera this size. 3. Boot-up time is very fast, shot-to-shot time is quick for a subcompact. 4. The 2.5 inch LCD screen is gorgeous. 5. Camera can take 6 megapixel 3:2 format pictures (great for 4×6 prints). Compare that to C_n_n’s line of cameras, where their 3:2 “postcard” format is limited to a resolution of 1600×1200, which isn’t even truly 3:2.

CONS:
1. Noise in pictures is noticeable at higher ISOs. It seems to be a problem common to all Panasonic Lumix cameras. This is only a problem and noticeable if pictures are shot at higher ISOs (400 or more), or if you print pictures out at larger sizes (8×10 or more). It’s not a problem at 4×6 picture sizes. 2. There’s also no optical viewfinder (only an LCD). 3. To recharge the proprietary battery, it must be removed from the camera and placed in its battery charger. 4. Finally, no date imprint picture (ie. you don’t get a date stamp on actual picture, but you can tell it to print one when printing directly to a DPOF printer).

Delighted with my new camera!5
I’ve spent 3 years shopping for a digital camera. I had a hard time committing, because I couldn’t decide which features were most important to me - would compact size be more important (so I could carry it with me anywhere)?, or would I be happier with a larger camera (with a better optical zoom)? And, I really wanted to spend less than $300, but the cameras I was considering were often $350 or more.

Canon has a good reputation, so I borrowed a friend’s Canon SD600. I was disappointed in the quality of some sunrise shots - you could really tell this model had no image stabilization. Next, I borrowed another friend’s Canon SD700. This seemed to be a nice camera, which offered the optical image stabilization. This model had a few more bells and whistles than I needed, but the biggest cons were that it was only available online, and it was a bit cashy. So, when it came time to make my final decision, this Panasonic had it all. Pros include: 7 megapixels means I can take a shot and then “zoom” and crop it on the computer without sacrificing quality; the optical image stabilization works great; it slips easily into a pocket; battery life seems to be great; picture quality has been OUTSTANDING; 2.5″ screen is a great size. Another plus: a “simple” mode, which limits the number of settings you can change(which is great for a novice user), or a standard mode which gives the user more control over manual settings. The camera is VERY user friendly, with an on-screen description available for the 19 different scene modes that helps the user understand the best use of each mode. I’ve printed an 8×10 shot of our family from Christmas, and the colors and cripsness of the photo are unbelievable. Sunrise and sunset shots are both great quality, with clarity and coloring that are unbelievable. AND, I really love the burnished red finish on the camera too!

The only con I’ve found so far is that the flash does not seem as effective as Canon’s models - but, in the few shots I’ve taken where that’s been an issue, I’ve been able to correct the problem with photo editing software.

I highly recommend this camera, and can say without hesitation that it has surpassed my expectations. Accessories that I’d recommend would include a 1 gig SD card, and a spare battery so you’ll always have one charged and ready to go.

Update - bought this camera in December 2006, and 2 years later I’m still thrilled with it. The compact size means I can carry it everywhere - it fits in the cell phone pocket of most of the purses I own. Battery life is still great. I continue to think this is a great camera, especially for novice users - especially with the price down so low.

Great camera for price5
I had reservations about buying this camera after reading the few negative reviews citing excessive ‘noise’ with low light situations and certain ISO settings. Knowing I would mostly be using the more simplified features the majority of the time, and given all the generally positive reviews by others, I decided to give it a try. I must say I am very satisfied with the camera. Granted, I generally use the normal or simple mode for most shots, but have used all modes several times since purchasing the camera and it takes wonderful shots, indoors and out, low light and bright sunshine. The user manual is very easy to understand and gives setting suggestions to correct some of these noise problems. I have not had any negative experiences with it. I bought it as a replacement for an Olympus Stylus that I damaged on a ski trip and although that camera was a great point and shoot and took nice pictures, this Panasonic is far better. Combine that with compact size, sturdy build and good looks and you have a great camera. I bought the leather Lumex case that Amazon sold with it as a bundle and it is very good quality leather and snug fitting so as not to add bulk to the compact size. Nice item.

From the Manufacturer
The new Lumix DMC-FX07 7.2-megapixel digital camera features a wide-angle f2.8 Leica DC lens with 3.6x optical zoom (equivalent to 28mm to 102mm on a 35mm film camera), an Intelligent Image Stabilizer by Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer), and Intelligent ISO control. The DMC-FX07 also pursues further compactness with a 2.5-inch LCD.

To fight against the major cause of blurred images, Panasonic invented the Mega O.I.S. system, taking advantage of its superior lens technology to compensate for handshake. In addition, to also compensate for the other major cause of blurred images–movement of the subject–the FX07 camera is also equipped with the world’s first Intelligent ISO Control (hereafter I.I.C.) and a maximum ISO of 1250, for high-sensitivity recording at full resolution within the advanced image processing LSI Venus Engine III. When set to the I.I.C., the Venus Engine III detects the subject’s movement and adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed to best suit the movement and light condition automatically. Panasonic’s excellent image stabilization system allows users to take clear, crisp images in any situation, leaving everything to the camera.

When shooting indoor group portraits, sometimes the room is not large enough to allow the photographer to get everyone in the frame, or the light is insufficient, forcing the photographer to use a flash. However the winning combination of 28mm Leica DC lens and the Intelligent Image stabilizer enable every type of user to take ideal beautiful images with everyone in the frame and without having to use the flash which would spoil the ambience of the picture.

The FX07 is available in silver, black, red, and blue, each with a specially textured finish. It’s a beautifully designed and feature-packed digital camera, ideal for recording and preserving all those precious moments that life gives.

28mm Wide-Angle 3.6x Optical Zoom f2.8 Leica DC Lens in a Compact Body
The 7.2-megapixel Lumix FX07 camera has a 28mm (35mm equivalent) wide-angle 3.6x optical zoom f2.8 Leica DC Vario-Elmarit lens housed in a compact and slim body, achieved thanks to the incorporation of an EA (Extra High Refractive Index Aspherical) lens. This wide-angle lens enables easy capture of groups of people, architectural structures, and scenery with dynamic width and a rich perspective. The lens unit, comprised of a Leica DC lens of seven elements in six groups, incorporates four aspherical lenses to generate high optical performance while preserving the compactness of the unit. The zoom ratio can be extended up to 5.5x in 3-megapixel resolution mode thanks to the Extended Optical Zoom function which gives extra magnification (and minimal image deterioration) by intentionally using the center part of the CCD.

More than Mega O.I.S., Lumix’s Image Stabilizing System Evolves Further
Taking advantage of its superior lens technology, Panasonic invented the Mega O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer) system to fight against the major cause of blurred images. It compensates for handshake and is now featured on the entire Lumix range. Every slight hand-shake movement is detected accurately with the sampling frequency of 4,000 times per second and is compensated for, rendering clear, sharp images. In addition, movement of the subject, the other major cause of blurred images, is suppressed by the advanced image processing LSI Venus Engine III with the Intelligent ISO Control (hereafter I.I.C.) and high-sensitivity recording capabilities with a maximum ISO of 1250. The world’s first incorporation of this I.I.C. allows the automatic adjustment of the suitable ISO setting and shutter speed that best suits the situation by analyzing the speed of subject movement. If the subject is moving, the ISO setting automatically rises to allow a higher shutter speed. On the other hand, if the subject is still and no movement is detected, you can take beautiful natural images with a low ISO setting.

High Picture Quality, Rapid Image Processing with the Venus Engine III
The FX07 camera uses the Venus Engine III to realize high-sensitivity recording at a maximum ISO of 1250 at full resolution. The noise-reduction system is greatly improved by removing noise at the processing stages in series. With its multi-task image processing capability, the Venus Engine III boasts outstanding response time with a shutter release time lag of as few as 0.005 seconds and a shutter interval of 0.5 seconds. Together with the fast start-up time of approximately 1.3 seconds, the quick response of the FX07 enables easy capture of those spur-of-the-moment shots. In the burst shooting mode, it is possible to shoot at three frames per second in full resolution for a maximum of eight images in standard mode or six images in fine mode. The DMC-FX07 camera also allows unlimited consecutive shooting up to the capacity of the SD/SDHC memory card. (The speed of the consecutive shooting varies depending on the memory card.)

Despite the large, bright LCD, the DMC-FX07 camera achieves long battery life to shoot approximately 320 pictures (CIPA) on a single charge, thanks to the energy-efficient Venus Engine III.

Advanced 2.5-Inch Large LCD for Easy Shooting and Playback
The FX07 incorporates an easy-to-see 2.5-inch 207K-pixel high-resolution LCD. The pixel-mixed readout method performed by the CCD automatically increases the brightness level of the live image on the LCD, which greatly facilitates shooting in low-light situations. With the help of the Power LCD function, which boosts the backlighting of the LCD by 40%, even shooting in bright outdoor situations is no longer a problem. The High Angle mode makes the display extremely easy to view from low angles, for example, when holding the camera up high to take pictures over a crowd. It can be accessed easily and quickly by using the dedicated button.

Clear, Bright, Wide VGA Motion-Image Recording for Viewing on a Wide-Screen TV
In addition to standard VGA (640 x 480) motion image recording at 30 frames per second (fps), the DMC-FX07 camera can also record stunning full-size movies in wide-aspect VGA (848 x 480) at 30 fps. Shooting is one thing, but viewing is another, and users will be suitably impressed by the 16:9 moving image when it is displayed on a wide-screen TV. The brightness level of these motion images is also enhanced as a result of the pixel-mixed readout method performed by the CCD.

Users may also select and display nine sequential frames from a motion image in thumbnail format, enabling you to see individual frames of a golf swing, for example.

Unimpeded High-Speed Autofocus
The various autofocus (AF) mode can be selected according to the shooting environment and the position of the subject: 9-point, 3-point high speed, 1-point high-speed, 1-point normal-speed, and spot. In the 1-point normal speed AF, the AF time is reduced by one third of the time compared to the predecessor, to provide a quick and smooth AF without screen-freeze. The inclusion of an AF assist lamp provides further assistance in low-light situations when focusing is difficult. The result is stress-free photography with never a moment missed.

A Variety of Scene Modes and Other Features to Enrich Your Photography
An even greater variety of scene modes are included–18 in total, to assist you in a wide range of photographic situations. The newly incorporated Beach mode is perfect for shooting in strong sunlight and the Aerial mode enhances images shot through the windows of an airplane. High Sensitivity mode, made possible by the pixel-mixed readout method by the CCD, is ideal for shooting moving subjects clearly without blurring at a sensitivity as high as ISO 3200. (Resolution significantly decreases in high sensitivity mode.)

On the other hand, in the Simple mode, almost all adjustments can be automatically set–even the backlight compensation–allowing even entry-level users to take beautiful images easily.

An additional improvement is the addition of a print mode onto the mode dial for the FX50 so that users can make prints by just connecting the camera to a Pictbridge-compatible printer via an included USB cable.

The FX07 is compatible with an optional marine case (not included–must be purchased separately) with which users can shoot underwater while scuba diving, etc. The camera also includes a World Time Setting, which allows users to set the time and date of 74 locations across the world.

Inspector Conan, the ace detective trapped within the body of a first-grader, solves more difficult cases. Constrained by the necessity of maintaining the illusion that he is nothing more than an unusually bright child, he usually explains his solution to the case by tranquilizing his guardian, Detective Mori, and simulating his bellow. Why doesn’t anyone consider it irregular that they are being addressed by a slumped figure with eyes closed and lips unmoving? If logical lapses like this bother you, then avoid this series.

It was a very grand movie. I earn all of the case closed episodes and they are all very favorable. Bill

This archaic movie is the one of the ancestors of current slapstick comedy. I don’t normally like slapstick - in fact, I diligently avoid it - but I really enjoyed this movie. The stunts are overdone, the expressions and mannerisms exaggerated, the style is absurd, but it’s comic. Amusing enough to survey repeatedly. Like most of the movies of the era, there’s no reason not to let the kids peep it. It’s cute and light, and everybody’s jubilant in the extinguish.

This is a smart comedy.I first saw it on TCM and would eye it each chance that I had to.Joe makes a substantial would-be salesman trying to sell a tractor only no one wants him to.I can’t wait for more of his movies to become available to select.

Customer Reviews:

Waterproof camera and accessory kit5
After much researching, I settled on the Canon PowerShot D10. It proved to be a wonderful purchase. We took it in the pool and tried it out and I was very impressed! My daughter (now 10) loves to take pictures and when we go fishing I am always so nervous to hand her a camera. But with this one you have no worries.
Another thing that is impressive is how it takes a picture of moving objects. I took pictures of the kids on swings (in full swing). I had no idea what I would get. I just held the camera out and snapped and they were incredible.
This isn’t a pocket camera but we didn’t find that to be a problem. The only thing so far that I wish is that it had more zoom. But that’s a small trade-off for how worry free the camera is. And the accessory kit was well worth it.

worked for 6 days and then it broke1
I so much looked forward to this camera. I ordered it for our upcoming 10 day cruise at a.o. Aruba and Curacao. Looked forward to taking underwater pictures in Aruba where we were going to snorkle. I received the camera on 8 October 2009 and on 16 October I took it into the water on our snorkling excursion. We were snorkling for about half an hour and when I tried to look back the menu buttom wasn’t working. The only switch that worked was the on/off switch. After getting at first a bright yellow screen and then a white screen the screen went black and the camera died! 6 days of fun with what was supposed to be a 10 day Canon experience with a waterproof camera. The pictures I took up untill the moment the camera stopped working were saved so I do have the underwater pictures with the fish and the shipwreck. I believe that the Canon Powershot D10 underwater camera is not at all waterproof or in my case I received a ‘Monday morning’ example. Hopefully I will be given a new camera or Canon will fix my camera completely. The quality of the pictures is great, the camera is easy to handle and I was falling in love with it untill it let me down. Hopefully Canon will not let me down.

Great Underwater camera - Canon D105
After a thorough review of underwater cameras in a price line of under $500, we settled on the Canon D10. We always snorkel on our Caribbean vacations and typically purchase one of the 1 time use cameras for taking underwater pics. This time we thought we should just go ahead and invest in a “real” underwater camera and were so glad we did. The Canon D10 is great. You can buy just the camera for around $320. Amazon was offering this camera and a 8mb Accessory kit for $369. This was a deal! Included was an extra 8mb card and another battery and other goodies. If you buy this camera…. buy the kit. You need this stuff eventually and this “kit” will save you money. Now.. how was the camera? Unbelievable! This series manages to be intriguing and laugh out loud laughable without addressing the sage every volume. While this series continues to develop me laugh, there is aloof pains that they are going to race out of time to introduce the legend and salvage us through the second half effectively. Hopefully the halt of this half is foreshadowing something obliging in the coming episodes. In the meantime though, this series is worth objective sitting wait on and enjoying. The writing is intelligent and its clever nature warrants continued viewing.

Customer Reviews:

Criminally bum rapped.5
I spent weeks in forums reading up on this lens, and always seemed to come across a mixed bag of comments about it. I’ve had it for about a month, and I have taken a good amount of pictures with it. It does take great pictures, all the way up to 300mm. There is a touch of softness at 300mm, but this can all be taken care of using an unsharp mask in Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro/etc….. As a matter of fact, this lens seems particularly receptive to sharpening. People swear by L lenses, but if it’s between this lens and say the 70-200mm IS you’re talking about a minimal difference in sharpness out of the camera, and the 70-200mm IS costs more with less of a range. The DO is also black, and the DO technology enables it to be much smaller than you’d expect. At full zoom it is smaller than the 70-200mm IS or non-IS!! I took this lens to a NY Mets baseball game, and did not stick out like a sore thumb. YOU CAN TAKE THIS LENS ANYWHERE!!! The image stabilization is great, and has 2 modes you can use.

I am very satisfied with this lens. Don’t let the L snobs sway you away.

I bought this for 1169.95 and it’s $30 drop to 1139.95 was refunded to me by Amazon. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

great lens, great place to buy.

Excellent Lens5
I love this lens. I’d like to compare it to the canon 70-200 f/2.8 L, because I own that too. I originally bought the 70-200 because I really like the L series glass, having previously purchased other L lenses. I am a small woman and I found it to be very cumbersome and often left it at home (though it is an excellent lens on it’s own) because of it’s size. My husband suggested the 70-300 f/4-5.6 DO IS as an alternative. I am SO pleased with the lens. I recently shot over 250 photos at a zoo. All hand held, something I could NOT do with the 70-200, and many at the extreme 300mm. The IS is amazing, the weight of the lens very manageable. It was a cloudy, sometimes rainy day and yet the colors were true and the focus, even in low light situations, very accurate. I used no flash, even indoors. The photos through glass and mesh were so clear, you’d never know either were there. On a sunny day practice shoot, I had no trouble with lens flare, even without using a hood. (I was trying to get flare, just because it was mentioned in other reviews.) So, if you do not wish to haul a heavy lens around and you want all the benefits of an L series photo, I would recommend this lens.

Great Lens!5
I originally purchased the other (non-DO) Canon 70-300mm zoom lens but found so many annoyances with it that I returned it. I find this DO lens to be much, much nicer and worth the extra cost. The issues I had with the non-DO lens were: it’s big and noisy (focus and IS); slow to focus; if pointed down, the lens violently pops-out to full zoom, thus requiring use of the zoom lock whenever not in use; the filter ring rotates during zoom, making use of a polarizing filter difficult; you cannot manually focus if the lens is in AF mode; chromatic aberrations were noticable.

The DO lens has none of these issues: it is compact (about the same size as the Canon EFS 17-85), quiet, and fast focusing. The lens holds its focal length if pointed up or down. The filter ring does not rotate during zoom, and you can manually focus whether in AF or MF mode. I’ve seen no chromatic aberrations with this lens. Shots are clear and crisp throughout the entire range.

I didn’t consider the highly-rated L series lenses because I knew that I wouldn’t regularly carry such a large and obtrusive lens. I can literally carry this DO lens in my jacket pocket wherever I go, and not attract a lot of attention when it’s mounted on my camera. Your needs may vary.

It’s also a pleasure to own what I consider to be a technological marvel. With excellent image stabilization and autofocus, and being one of only two SLR lenses in the world to use diffractive optics (the other one costs over $5k), this lens defines state of the art.

Amazon.com Product Description
Canon raises the stakes for professional photography with its EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM telephoto lens with image stabilization. Thanks to a new triple-layered diffractive optical element (DO), this 70-300mm lens is less than 4 inches (10 cm) long. It can focus down to 4.6 feet (without rotating the front element) and a new zoom lock button keeps the lens safe and secure when not in use or used at the wide angle. A virtually silent ultra-sonic motor (USM) gives the lens extremely fast autofocus. The lens also includes Canon’s Image Stabilization technology to dramatically reduce camera shake, compensating for approximately three stops in shutter speed without any perceptible increase in image blur. It’s a great choice for professional photojournalists and serious advanced amateurs who need to contain the size and weight of equipment carried.

DO Elements
Use of the new three-layer DO lens drastically reduces the overall length and weight of the lens system increasing the refractive power of each lens element and reducing the spaces between elements. It’s approximately 26 percent shorter and 36 percent lighter than any lens of comparable specifications.

Zoom lock
The EF 70-300mm lens features a zoom ring locking mechanism, locking the lens at its shortest total length. This helps to protect the lens from potential damage by preventing the zoom elements extending under their own weight, which might otherwise occur when the lens is mounted to a camera that hangs from a neck or shoulder strap.

Image Stabilization
The lens incorporates Canon’s Image Stabilization (IS) technology, compensating for approximately three stops without any perceptible increase in image blur when shooting static subjects or panning. This increases the range of circumstances in which hand-held photography is possible, limiting the need to carry a tripod.

Fast AF
A rear focusing ring type USM, high-speed CPU and new AF algorithms combine to give the lens extremely fast auto-focusing. The ring-type ultrasonic motor (USM) converts ultrasonic vibrational energy into rotational force to deliver high-speed, high-precision, super efficient and virtually noiseless auto focusing, with good holding torque for rapid response and accurate stopping. Full-time manual override is featured, removing the possibility of damage to the autofocus mechanism during manual focus. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of just 1.4m throughout the entire zoom range.

Ready for Digital Photography
The lens shape and coatings have been optimized to suppress ghosting and flaring, making this lens ideal for use with digital cameras that are more susceptible to reflections off the recording media than are film cameras.

Working with EOS
The drive pattern of the lens is tailored to specifically match that of the latest EOS range, extracting maximum benefit from the lens’ speed advantage. The lens comes with a case LP1116 and an exclusive hood ET-65B for shading against unwanted direct light.

The runt Aussie burg of Berkelely receives a deadly rain of meteorites, turning people hit by the celestial stones into the walking humdrum. It doesn’t buy long for our main characters to assemble in the obligatory isolated farmhouse to perambulate out the plague of zombies.

All of our familiar friends are holed up here from the loony cops, morose pregnant waitress, her clueless boyfriend, misunderstood beauty queen, and badass fisherman (whose fashion taste takes after Torgo from MANOS, THE HANDS OF FATE) . Our sympathies are tied to the multiple-barrel shotgun wielding fisherman Marion (Mungo McKay) and the resplendent Rene (Felicity Mason) . The pair carves a swath through a seemingly endless supply of reanimated corpses only to fetch that zombies aren’t the corpulent extent of their worries.

Comparing UNDEAD to Australia’s other celebrated zombie film, Monotonous ALIVE, is a tempting albeit simplistic temptation. It’s proper that both films piece similarities in their utilize of the walking uninteresting and barrels of spurious blood but what the pair fraction most is their foul sense of humour. The excessive gore, kinetic camerawork, and peculiar action mix well with the harmful genre antics. Hopefully this wonderfully comical film is a price of things to reach from the Spierig brothers.

UNDEAD is slated for release by Lion’s Gate Films while already on DVD in Australia.

This movie is hugely piquant and the best homage to Night of the

Living Boring, Terrible Taste and The Cross Tiring, ever made. When strange

weather phenomena occurs in a puny Australian town, zombies start

appearing. A shrimp group of people destroy up in a house to fight them off

but have to fight their plot out as one of them needs medical attention.

The rest of the movie is spent on fighting the zombies and revealing

their origin. The gore and blood are plentiful and first rate. The

effects are mostly “precise” and cgi is at a minimum. There is comedy

throughout but is more of the dry, Aussie/Brit variety so is not

overwhelming or overly dreary. It made me laugh out loud on mamy

occasions. The dialogue is fair witty and there are many memorable

and quotable lines. There is also a nice twist towards the kill of the

story and a profitable do that wraps it up, while quiet leaving ot open

for a deserved sequel.
