I have a query, why are people giving this movie poor reviews that region themselves they didnt even really like the other two movies to commence with? Im not gonna go write a review about harry potter or something I abominate and trash talk it cuz my conception is irrelevant. If you liked the other two movies then this one will not be disappointing. This movie was supposed to be a comedy with some martial arts action poured on top and thats exactly what it was. Chris Tucker was hilarious in it and if he annoys you then dont stare the movie. I was in a completley packed theater and every person was laughing so hard people were losing their breath. So obviously SOMEONE thinks Chris Tucker is humorous. All the haters need to wait on off of this post.

I remember 2007 has been the year of the three-quel’s, and at long last–after the ambitious excess of “Spiderman 3,” the lackluster of “Shrek the Third,” the love-it-or-hate-it logic to the “Pirates” finale, the return to glossy originate of “Ocean’s 13,” and the tense, captivating “Bourne Ultimatum” (which gave a gigantic ultimatum to its beget franchise) –we near to its extinguish with the fun, campy adrenaline-rush of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker re-teaming for “Bustle Hour 3.” At the slay of watching this I though it was okay but I felt a bit unlit that it had to advance to an kill like this because I delight in the first two very grand.

Jackie Chan (Lee) acts well as usual (have some scrape for pronouncing things but I didn’t mind that) and Chris Tucker is serene hilarious and he’s smooth loud as ever. The jokes are decent and I had my shares of laughs here and there, the only predicament I have with the comedy is that sometime they try to stretch it far to great and you’re ending up saying “We procure it already”, The chemistry between the two leads is calm there which makes these movies fun in the first status.

This was an unneeded yet racy entry into the series, but it is basically the like child of the first two. The outtakes as usual are the best allotment of the film.

Rumors of filming a fourth Race Hour film immediately after this third installment were apparently scrapped due to unknown reasons, but one could easily venture that failing interest in the series hamstrung such a project (but who knows …maybe there will be a fourth) . Plenty of eye-candy awaits those guys who like to look marvelously curvaceous women whom you normally would only discover air-brushed on magazine covers. Most notably is French actress Noémie Lenoir who plays Genevieve, a dancer with a very special head on her shoulders.

But beyond that, you’re not going to search for mighty that’ll intrigue you. The epic has been done ad nauseam, as have all the jokes. Let ‘er rest in peace, guys.

I first saw this movie as a student decades ago, and now seeing it all these years later on DVD, I’m amazed how well it holds up. It’s a lesson in what can be done on the mask with so little; there’s no budget here, largely amateur actors and a very simple site. It’s about an unemployed man, who gets a job offer that requires a bike, the sacrifice his family must invent to accumulate his bike out of hock, and what happens when the bike is stolen on the job. It’s successful because I mediate the writers and director focus on some universal truths–about human nature, appreciate, pride, survival and–yes–family values. It’s disheartening to read some reviews that say: “I was bored,” “It wasn’t bright enough,” or “Enough with the dusky & white.” It’s also disheartening to spy reviews from people with no opinion of this film’s historical context. The poverty of post-WWII Europe produced a revolution in cinema, and this movie was one that redefined the medium’s possibilities. I can’t imagine someone not being moved by the spot faced by the lead character in this film. I do regret that this movie has not gotten a pudgy “Criterion Collection” restoration, and I would have liked more “extras” on the DVD–like background information on the time the director and the Italian neo-realist movement. BTW, the more apt translation of the Italian title is “Bicycle Thieves,” which (after you glance the movie) you must agree is more appropriate.

(This review is for the Criterion Collection release of this dvd — not for the Image Entertainment release that many other reviews here refer to.)

“Bicycle Thieves” (as it is wisely retranslated from the Italian for this recent Criterion release) is one of the few “perfect films” — by which I mean a film that is in its absorb arrangement impartial as it should be, lacking nothing, the kind of film where even apparent missteps tend to contribute indelibly to the overall impression of a film in which nothing could have been changed without damaging the film. Recall, for example, the scenario that instead of an unknown day laborer in the role of Antonio, de Sica had gone with David Selznick’s suggestion of Cary Grant (which was a condition for the film getting funded through American studios) . I have no doubt that this would have remained an captivating film, and that Grant would have done an admirable job — but it would have been a totally different film and would have lost the fragility and vulnerability and delicacy (combined with hardness and objectivity) that execute this film so precious. We can all be grateful that De Sica chose to wait for an Italian investor who allowed him to form the film the device he and Zappatini had planned.

Without giving away anything of the space, I will say that the conclusion of the film is one of the most considerable I have seen — and carries an emotional weight that is earned rather than manipulated, and that can be compared only to a very few films: Chaplin’s City Lights and Kiarostami’s Close-up are the only films that reach to mind. De Sica strikes a very comely balance between realistic depiction of the harsh realities of life in postwar Rome, and a humanistic vison of the resourcefulness of individuals in the face of hopelessness and the enduring power of empathy, forgiveness, and appreciate.

The film looks better than ever on this novel Criterion edition — it seemed to me that a few shots were a bit washed out but I can only bewitch that is due to the condition of the available negatives. Spots and dust and other imperfections seem to have been removed entirely, and the subtitles are quite capable and easy to read. The film alone would design this spot an distinguished one, but the booklet (containing some splendid essays, including a very illuminating essay by Andre Bazin) and attached documentaries (one on neorealsm, one on screenwriter Zappatini, and one on De Sica) earn this space as a whole like a master course on one of the undisputed masterpieces of cinema.

This box space is one of the Criterion Collection’s best releases yet. In this position are 3 films.

Alexander Nevsky and Ivan the Dreadful (Ivan Grozny) parts 1 and 2.

Alexander Nevsky is based on the good myth of 13th century Prince Alexander Nevsky who helped fend off Teutonic (German) soldiers out of what is now Russia.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Eisenstein - The Sound Years! Click Here

The film has an superb catch unruffled for the film by Sergei Prokofiev. The acting in the film is also very suited also. The film was very accepted and was temporarily banned by Stalin after Germany signed a nonagression pact with the Soviet Union.

The film is on disc 1 and has the following special features.

Restoration demonstration, Production stills and storyboard drawings, a multimedia essay by Russel Merrit on Sergei Eisenstein’s work with Sergei Prokofiev on the film’s gather, an feature length essay on the film by David Bordwell, who wrote a book on Eisenstein’s films, and there is also stills and dialog from Eisentein’s unfinished film, Bezhin Meadow with photos of the film’s state.

Ivan the Poor parts 1 and 2 are the first two parts of an unfinished trilogy. Several scenes of piece 3 were filmed but only one scene is known to survive today.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Eisenstein - The Sound Years! Click Here

The film follows the life of Tsar Ivan Vassilivich also known as Ivan the Bad (Ivan Groznyy) . He is credited with uniting the people of Russia into a single nation. The first film covers his coronation and a battle that was fought to reclaim lost territory. The film is also very notorious and has music by Prokofiev.

The first piece on disc 2 has the folloving special features:

Buy,Download, Or Stream Eisenstein - The Sound Years! Click Here

The deleted prologue sequence covering piece of Ivan’s childhood where he witnesses the poisoning slay of his mother and also contains another deleted scene. It also has the surviving piece of the unfinished fragment 3 There are also a hobble exhibit of production stills and drawings, and an essay on the history of the film.

Part 2 covers the time where Tsar Ivan roots out the traitors who helped poison his wife and executes them.

The film has an estimable Color sequence cofering worthy of the last 30 minutes of the film. The Agfacolor film stock was captured from the Germans during WWII and was primitive for this film. The cinematography is really gpood and there is a flashback sequence from the deleted prologue of piece 1

Disc 3 also contains an audio essay by Yuri Tsivian on the ravishing cinematography of the film.

The spot is well worth the $79 if you are a fan of Russian Cinema like I am. This position remains one of my favorites and it is really worth looking into.

Alexander Nevsky is a spicy pro-Soviet propaganda fragment partially intended as a warning to Hitler at the time not to invade Russia. The chronicle battle on the frozen lake is justly well-known and the sheer scope of the logistics of filming are impressive. Some of the characters are somewhat cliche stock creations of the time including the two soldiers fighting for the treasure of one woman who must note themselves in battle, but overall it’s a modest success.

The loyal prize in this three film Criterion area however is of course Ivan the Dreadful parts 1 and 2, a colossal masterpiece, Eisenstein’s most “delightful” film(s) and indeed one of the oddest works to emerge from Soviet cinema of the time. Highly expressionistic visuals combine with a melodramatic (and slightly revisionist) occupy of Ivan’s life to design one of the stranger filmic experiences one will glimpse. Eisenstein clearly had a very highly developed visual style and the numerous indecent close-ups of faces are fantastic as are the sets and costumes. Allotment 2 doesn’t quite live up to the promise of piece 1 but nevertheless brings the characters to an appropriate conclusion. Bizarrely amusing (perhaps unintentionally at times) Ivan is nevertheless a film more for afficionados than for the casual viewer looking for another classic in the mould of Casablanca.

Regarding the transfers, they are generous and anyone expecting better prints is simply not being realistic regarding the age of the material and the conditions in which they were kept. While not as pristine looking as other current releases of 40’s films on DVD such as Shadow of a Doubt or Monsieur Hulot’s Holiday they are more than adequate considering given the circumstances.

I know this has not been released yet, but I know what event it is from, reading the statment in the last lot of FMW DVD’s. It is not the IWA “King Of The Death Match” like eveyone thinks its is, but it does collected feature Cactus Jack and Terry Funk. What this tape is, is a copy of the Japan only released:

Atsushi Onita & Masato Tanaka & W*ING Kanemura v Cactus Jack & Gladiator & Terry Funk *Texas Western Street Fight Death Match*

Megumi Kudo v Shark Tsuchiya *No Rope Barbed Wire Electrified Death Match*

I’m not positive which of these matches made it onto the tape (The info given says there are only 7 matches in total perform it onto the DVD)

The event was a masterpiece with the last match being a honest vast. This one I know is on the tape, as well as the one featuring Cactus Jack, and also the match with Hayabusa - as the info in the last batch of FMW DVD’s talked of Hayabusa being unmasked, along with the return of Cactus and Terry, aswell as the retirement match of Kudo.)

Well worth you hard earned bucks, or pounds suitable as we have in the UK!

I was really disappointed with this video. The main reason for my disappoitment is the tiresome highlight videos (instant replays) that kept on popping up during the matches. I hated these highlight videos because they ruined the run of the match. It wasn’t like they showed the videos while the wrestlers were laying exhausted on the floor doing nothing (like after a wrestler hits a plancha and then rests on the arena floor for a minute while) . They would do these instant replays during the middle of heated action. I remember even missing a 2 count (u could hear the ref counting to 2 in the background) due to one of the instant replays. What made it even worse was that the same instant replays that were shown during the matches, were also shown after the conclusions of the matches. What was the point of showing the same clip twice? I really hope that FMW will secure rid of the instant replays for the next tape it produces.

At last, Superman is presented the blueprint it was meant to be! The master print for the 1978 classic had deteriorated so badly that the film, particularly the white-on-white Krypton opening scenes, was almost unwatchable. (I had even gone so far as to write a critique on Amazon.com demanding a ‘Director’s Cut’ DVD edition, digitally transferred and remastered, be made!)

Somebody was listening! While this isn’t a ‘Director’s Cut’ (Donner has said that the version that premiered in 1978 was the version he preferred), the movie has been expanded, to include a couple of brief scenes with Brando, and the famed Superman Gauntlet sequence at Luthor’s underground lair (the remaining unused sequences can be seen in the ‘Deleted Scenes’ Chapter, on Side 2) .

Technically, the DVD is fabulous; the Krypton sequences are now tidy and spirited, a couple of shots where, previously, color balancing problems had turned Superman’s costume green have been corrected, and, best of all, the soundtrack has been digitally remastered and sounds even better than it did in 1978!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Superman - The Movie! Click Here

Three improbable documentaries are included on Side 2 about the making of the film, and how the flying effects were achieved. This was an incredibly expensive and difficult film to compose (so considerable so that Donner, after ‘Superman’ was released to rave reviews, was fired, and replaced by Richard Lester, for ‘Superman 2′), and through interviews with Donner, Christopher Reeve (who is honored for his work in the film, and his courage since his crippling accident), Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, and several of the creative team, you can devour what a novel and astonishing film this is!

Two other ‘pluses’; a full-length audio commentary track with Richard Donner, and a ‘music only’ option, where you can appreciate one of composer John Williams’ greatest scores!

This Special Edition DVD should be an principal piece of any film lover’s collection!

This is a tough one to review. For a film made in 1978, I don’t assume it could discover any better. I’m willing to bet this Blu-ray disc is as suited if not better than the premiere screening of Superman assist in 78. Broad care must have been taken to dapper up and restore this report. It is practically free of scratches and dirt. It is detailed, far above standard definition. Colors are balanced and observe catching. Incompatibility is natural and evenly spread. Inserted scenes are consistent with the rest of the film. Never looked better. Composed, 1978. There are a few scenes with plenty of grain and most of the film gives the impression of being a diminutive out of focus, a minute blurred. Five star transfer, four star visual impact. I doubt if a 1080p present is getting powerful more out of this report than a 720p expose.

Ronnie is a mall cop with tremendous dreams: he wants to be a cop. Partly to carry a gun, partly so people will finally respect him. But when a exact detective intrudes in the case, Ronnie decides to grasp matters in his maintain hands–to obtain respect, to regain the case, and to accumulate the girl.

OBSERVE AND Portray is perhaps the darkest comedy in ages. Seth Rogen does not play Ronnie as a beloved character, as many a lesser actor would; in Rogen’s hands, Ronnie is a borderline-sociopath, a bipolar loser who is as hilariously still as he is perilous. Anna Farris, as Brandi, is a comedic delight as always; she throws her self-esteem to the wind in order to wring the last small laugh from every scene. Michael Pena, as Ronnie’s sidekick, is a scene-stealer. However, it’s Ray Liotta who walks away with the only character to contain his have against Ronnie; as Detective Harrison, Liotta is tough and unforgiving, and the climax between the two ends the only intention it could (though you’ll be holding your breath the whole blueprint) .

In other words, Jody Hill’s Notice AND Picture is the darkest of murky comedies, often bordering on a (non-supernatural) awe movie; the comparisons it’s garnered to TAXI DRIVER are well-founded, and often-times you don’t know whether to wince or laugh. Hill doesn’t impartial hold things too far; he takes them to limits no one else would dare to. See AND Picture is not a comedy for the squeamish, but it’s certainly a film for those of us who don’t mind a few chills with our amusing thrills.

Not to say that writer/director Jody Hill is the original Scorscese (he’s not), but I was constantly reminded of Scorscese’s early 80s disturbo-comedy “King of Comedy” when watching this. Whereas Scorscese uses stark realism, though, Hill uses the conventions and expectations of unique comedy to nail us. This could have easily been another uncouth and gross comedy along the lines of Superbad or Pineapple Direct. Those (hell, most) comedies made today feature borderline-sociopathic, emotionally-retarded, and hopelessly immature males. Hill simply tips his characters over the edge. There is no denying that Ronnie (Seth Rogan) is a full-blown psychopath. What’s surprising is how end this character is to every other character Seth Rogan has ever played!

Your reaction to this film will be greatly effected by your expectations. If you question an extremely shaded, yet often funny, film instead of yet another “Superbad” or, god forbid, “Paul Blart: Mall Cop”, you should not be disappointed in the least.

I vividly remember the release of Sleeping Beauty. I was worn enough to go study it myself - objective barely. There I was sitting design up front eating my popcorn and all of a sudden this spectacular dragon materialized proper before my eyes. Popcorn forgotten, I was twisted. Cartoons never looked the same to me, and I spent the rest of my life inhaling fantasy and science fiction on a quest for the same thrill.

Animation has changed quite a bit in the ensuing years, but even today Sleeping Beauty is a towering achievement. Now I’m more sensitive to the tricks of the art and can glimpse the masterful utilize of perspective that made the scenes leap out at you. When I first picked up this DVD I half expected to be disappointed, to secure it really wasn’t so handsome in retrospect. This is hardly the case - this film is unbiased as vibrant and alive as it was in 1959.

The added dimension now is that I can sight how Disney’s work was a formative influence on animation even today. Artist/Directors like Miyazaki owe worthy to this film and its predecessor Snow White. And they freely admit it. As a production, Sleeping Beauty created a sense of legitimacy for animation that proved that high quality animation was something well beyond the Saturday morning funnies.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Sleeping Beauty! Click Here

Disney took a huge risk when creating this film, pouring a great amount of resources in making it something as perfect as was possible for his time. While the studio reaped the financial benefits, the audience was the dependable winner, as a whole genre exploded before our eyes. Even now, with anime expeditiously becoming a force to be reckoned with, this film stands out for record, art, and music.

The additional features, especially those that retell the making of the film, are safe as well. All captures in splendid detail on this DVD. This is a must glance for anyone who unruffled loves a fairy myth.

This movie is one of the mountainous classics of animation, especially for Disney. The DVD version is significantly improved compared to the previous VHS tape. The characterize and sound were both greatly enhanced for this release. Furthermore, both widescreen and stout veil versions are available in this package.

As with Disney’s other classics, some liberties were taken with the unusual epic of Sleeping Beauty. Disney took the classic epic and made it unusual and special. In some ways the memoir is less violent and murky than the modern fairy fable. In other ways, such as the portrayal of Maleficent, the movie is shaded and forbidding. While the movie is generally a children’s movie, Maleficent’s dragon and her general demeanor can be somewhat terrifying for some in the pre-school and younger space.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Sleeping Beauty! Click Here

Aurora was the first cherish for many a young boy, and was also the model for the aspirations of millions of girls. The romantic cherish anecdote of Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip enchanted would-be princesses everywhere, and in some cases became the measure by which future spouses were measured (and many of us struggled to meet the ideal) .

Of course, the romantic account and the depraved of Maleficent were balanced by the comedy of the animal characters and the three bumbling, good-hearted fairy godmothers. While their goodness may appear a bit too vanilla and sweet for some, it is perfect for those longing for the innocence of their youth.

While the movie is the most essential portion of the DVD, this two CD location contains a phenomenal number of extras. I found the audio commentary by various key individuals to be absolutely titillating. I planned to listen to portions of the commentary in preparation for my review, and instead found myself listening to the entire thing because it was so incredibly lively. Mary Costa (Princess Aurora) and others provide their perspective on the creation of the movie, as well as personal memories of Walt Disney and his influence on the film. The audio commentary by itself is worth replacing your VHS tape, particularly for aficionados of Disney movies.

In addition to the audio commentary are numerous, emphasize numerous, other bonus features. Some I felt were less than worthwhile, others, such as the shorts “Great Canyon” and “The Peter Tchaikovsky Legend,” were kindly bonuses. The number of bonuses on this two disc place was so broad that there is a navigational overview included in the DVD that categorizes 38 features found on the second disc.

With the movie and the wealth of bonuses, this movie is a must-buy for those who have yet to have “Sleeping Beauty.” For those who have the VHS, the bonus material is nearly worth the cost of the DVD. Certainly those who are collectors of Disney memorabilia and historians of Disney will regain the DVD to be a concise compendium of some of the best information available regarding this film. I highly recommend this DVD!

I have mixed feelings about these recent Underdog DVDs (this one, The Ultimate Underdog Collection Volume 2 and The Ultimate Underdog Collection Volume 3) . On one hand, I judge these cartoons are ample for kids. Originally airing on 1960s television, the Underdog serials have objective enough sarcasm (”Spy! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a frog!) to rob even the most jaded child, and the show’s additional cartoons include not honest Tennessee Tuxedo, but the mammoth Tooter Turtle and World of Commander McBragg. (Others include the King and Odie, Klondike Kat, Go Go Gophers and The Hunter.)

That said, whoever achieve together this space apparently has no appreciation for its contents. The shows on this disk are edited! Not for anything keen or racist (this was ’60s television, after all) but unbiased because someone is apparently too greedy, or too sluggish, to swear what they promise. Despite the fact that these were 30-minute television shows, on this disk each Underdog program — which has two ‘dog episodes and two additional cartoons — runs only 19 minutes.

Worse, the cuts are done with the subtlety of a meat clever. For example, in the Tooter Turtle shorts, after Mr. Wizard says “Drizzle, drazzle, druzzle, drome, time for this one to advance home”… the cartoon ends! As another reviewer points out, that’s NOT the demolish!

I gave this particular DVD three stars because of my fondness for Underdog, Tooter and Commander McBragg. But if you purchase it, be prepared to be at least a limited frustrated.

Just like the Site Ghost station I bought last week, these “episodes” are slash. They’ve left out most of the bridging material between the segments (such as the theme songs that worn to play before the extra cartoons like Go-Go Gophers would launch) . This along with some time compression (Underdog sounds like Sweet Polly since his reveal is sped up so posthaste!) on some segments and editing of other segments reduces the shows to around 19 minutes! What’s the deal folks? I care for this stuff, but can’t any company obtain or design the complete episodes for any cartoon series??? Heck, I’d recall the defective 16-mm syndicated prints that aged to note when I was a kid if I could rep all of the material!

Bottom Line- Regain it!

When people believe of the magical girl genre of anime they tend to believe of sailor suits, lame one-liners, and pathetically traditional monsters (i.e. Sailor Moon) . Pretear, on the other hand, breaks from the mold and breathes recent life into the magical girl genre. Pretear follows the sage of Himeno Awayuki as she struggles to fit in with her unusual and wealthy family after her father remarries. Meanwhile, in another world Leafenia, a awful ghastly known as the Princess of Grief breaks free from her prison to wreak havoc on Earth. Now the 7 knights of Leafenia must collect the Pretear to assist combat the contemptible forces at work. Himeno, of course, turns out to be the Pretear and must overcome her inner battles to place her home. Himeno transforms into the Pretear by “merging” with one of the knights through a process known as Preeting. This intention she can reveal the knights power. The transformation scenes are nice and short and there are no amusing poses or endless speeches given.

The animation is simply marvelous and the character/plot development will hook you in. There is also a healthy dose of romance and comedy that will manufacture fans of the romantic/action/comedy genre very contented.

I HIGHLY recommend this present to all anime fans. I especially appreciate the box this collection comes in and I understanding on watching this anime over and over again.
