This Pokémon DVD box space contains 20 episodes of the “Pokémon Advanced” season (season 6) - half of the season’s episodes.

For the ticket this DVD is obedient value, although there are no important extras or features to teach of.

However, for those who are fans of the series, this product is probably a must, and enables them to secure half of a season very easily (especially in comparison to the first season and the “Johto Journeys” season, where each DVD had only three episodes, making it very difficult to earn a complete season) .

This style follows on from the “Master Quest” season, but has yet to be repeated for the “Advanced Challenge” or “Advanced Battle” seasons.

Overall, a reliable value choose, even more so for fans of the franchise.

While the names of many scientists are known by being assigned to units of measurement, Albert Einstein is the only one whose name is applied as a description. His last name is now weak as a metaphor for genius, and he is the most famed scientist who ever lived. That reputation is well-deserved, in that his ideas concerning general relativity were so revolutionary that some of the experimental verification did not occur for decades. Furthermore, most anecdotal reports are that when it was published, there were only three people in the world, including Einstein himself, who could even understand it. His public persona was that of an eccentric genius, with wild, uncombed hair and a lack of socks. However, his private life has rarely if ever been investigated, and that is the main point of this video.

It turns out that he was privately very arrogant. So powerful so that his physicist friend Niels Bohr once told him in exasperation to cessation telling God what to do. When he was getting a divorce from his first wife, he boldly offered her the proceeds from his Nobel prize, which was not awarded until years later. As a husband and a father, he turned out to be wanting, although in his first marriage, it is easy to be sympathetic to both parties. He met his first wife, Milena while both were students and at that time, they spoke of an incandescent partnership. When his first child was born before they were married, they kept it calm although he spoke lovingly about mother and daughter in his letters. However, his station as a Swiss civil servant would have made a marriage after the birth awkward, so for reasons that are serene unexplained, the daughter suddenly disappears from the records and they then net married. Milena was also a physics student who failed her final exams twice. Then, once the miracle year of 1905 arrived and Einstein began to be heralded as the greatest physicist since Newton, his stature rose snappily. His meteoric rise to fame was probably farther and faster than anyone else in history. Quite frankly, you could have probably counted on your fingers the number of people alive then who possessed the intellect to be an shining partner for Einstein. Therefore, it is not surprising that the tension in their marriage grew to such an extent that they parted and then divorced.

His relationship with his second wife was an novel one. She tended his house, but they kept separate beds and she was not allowed to disturb him when he was in his peruse…. This was the first time I had ever heard anything about Einstein as a randy faded man, which I retract to exhibit that fame in any build attracts young women. His relationship with his two sons from his first marriage was never terminate, as Einstein became more and more withdrawn from human contact. One was diagnosed as a schizophrenic and was institutionalized until his death. The other became a professor but very rarely saw his father.

Generally, I accept personal revelations about celebrities to be very dreary and dumb. However, in this case it is a major exception. Like many others, Einstein is a hero to me and details about his life beyond the physics say elements of his character that beget him even more much in my eyes. All of the material that I have encountered to date has reinforced the solitary genius, but now you glimpse him as a headstrong young man who grew up to be a similar adult. Learning that he was a bit of a scamp makes him more refreshingly human in my eyes. This is an righteous video for science classes, in that it shows the human side of the most illustrious scientist of history. If even Einstein could have a life outside physics, then science will be a more handsome career to students.

My students found this DVD not only informative, but it shed a original light on this curious man. As we learned about his life, there were scenes which focussed on his ideas of relativity - a top-notch visual learning tool. However, it was the ‘man’ tedious these sparkling ideas which captivated my students. Einstein is revealed as an ‘ordinary’ person who cared for no-one but his passion for his work. Despite his scientific contributions which rocked the world, he failed as a husband and father (quite disappointing) . A satisfactory video if one wants to really win to glance who Einstein really was.

Over the top is such an emotionally inspiring film. The music that runs throughout the entire movie fair adds to the finish. If someone is looking for the most inspirational speech in the history of mankind, then study no further than the scene moral before the final arm wrestling match between Hawk and Bull Harley. Stallone emotionally explains how he becomes like a machine, or more specifically a truck, by simply turning his hat backwards. I see this scene every morning to hold me going. This movie did not have enough white guys with perms in it, though.

I savor this movie so powerful that I have feeble out my VHS copy of it. I really want this movie on DVD so dreadful and I can’t understand why it hasn’t been made on DVD yet. Granted the movie is not a substantial money maker or even hugely celebrated. But It is a childhood memory of watching this with my cousins. I say we petition this movie be made to DVD!!! It’s the waning days of the outmoded regime in France. A conscientious but impoverished nobleman from the south travels to Versailles to petition the royal government for funds to drain his swamps so that his tenants can be spared periodic outbreaks of disease. Instead of finding the sympathetic ears he expected, he finds a government nearing bankruptcy, a well-intentioned but befuddled king who is surrounded by a bureaucracy trying to temper the king’s naive generosity and stave off the final collapse, and an aristocracy that has descended into a nasty comedy of manners. All substantive concept at court has been replaced by endless games of witticisms, whereby a person’s social standing and political access are functions of mastering the art of the putdown . . . preferrably in as ascerbic a manner as possible.

To everyone’s surprise — including his acquire — our hero turns out to be quite beneficial at the art of malicious wit. First trying to spend his new-found talent to hurry up his campaign to drain his swamps, he soon succumbs to the appeal of the game for the game’s sake. A series of events eventually snaps him assist to reality, and therein lies the position of the fraction.

This is a supremely entertaining costume fraction. The cast is noble, the settings and costumes dead-on true, the dialog enchanting and sophisticated. In the slay, it’s really a gorgeously-filmed morality play about the triumph of conscience over wealth, power, and hollow social graces. The only actual fault with the movie from a historical perspective is that it portrays Louis XVI as the affable nitwit of accepted tale instead of the serious monarch overwhelmed by ultimately uncontrollable events that he really was.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ridicule! Click Here

This movie is so beneficial at drawing you in that you soon conclude to view you’re reading subtitles (at least if you don’t drawl fluent French) . Although the state hinges on the most radiant subtleties of 18th-century court French, the legend telegraphs through with searing clarity. And it’s a fable for all times, all places, and all tongues.

This reminds me a lot of Uncertain Liaisons (1988) and Valmont (1989) in its cynicism and animated wit. Area in France during the same time period (the eve of the French Revolution–that’s the eighteenth century, reviewers), Ridicule concentrates not so grand on sexual intrigues (although there is plenty of that) but on cynical wit as though in homage to Voltaire, France’s master of satire whose spirit is suffused throughout.

First a warning. Don’t let the rather tainted crudity of the opening scene mislead you. That is meant merely as satire, not as a presaging of further crudities to reach. It is also meant as a kind of cinematic joke since there is no comparable female nudity in the entire film. Indeed, there is no comparable, shall we say “expression,” anywhere in legitimate filmdom that I am aware of. So let it pass or conclude your eyes.

Charles Berling stars as Gregoire Ponceludon de Malavoy, a country engineer who comes to Versailles to net financial backing to drain a swamp to establish the peasants who are dying of mosquito-borne disease. (”Peasants feed aristocrats as well as mosquitos.”) He discovers very swiftly that a arrangement to an audience with Louis XVI is through gaining a reputation as a clever courtier. Guided by M. Bellegarde (Jean Rochefort), a retired courtier himself, Ponceludon posthaste picks up the games of wit and ridicule that reign at court. His like a flash and clever mind and youthful excellent looks catch the attention of the king’s mistress, Madame de Blayac (Fanny Ardant) who demonstrates how access to the king can approach through her bedroom. Ponceludon is accurate only in his desire to drain the swamp and so readily allows himself to become another of Blayac’s lovers in exchange for a chance to expose his program to Louis XVI.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Ridicule! Click Here

At the same time he meets Bellegarde’s daughter Mathide (Judith Godrèche), an idealistic beauty with a scientific hooked, who is betrothed to a dying veteran man of wealth and area. They descend in care for, but their differing agendas maintain them apart.

What makes this film such a delight is the delectable device it satirizes the decadent court of Louis XVI. The dramatic irony is profitable and absolute in the sense that at no time does director Patrice Leconte give even the slightest hint that any of the byzantine sycophants at court are aware that Danton and the Fear await them. Throw in the impending Industrial (and scientific) Revolution symbolized in the obtain of Ponceludon and Mathide, and the ancien régime with its antiquated feudal titles and contaminated privilege is seen for what it was, a parasitic anachronism, ripe to rot for destruction.

The sets, the direction and especially the acting are proper. Broken-down Rochefort is particularly profitable in a share that depends on a directive and expressive face amid the whispers at court. Berling is collected and believable as a man with a excellent mission, adroit at repartee, cherish and dueling, a modest and earnest hero.

Godrèche is obliging, but seems a runt restrained here. She is an impossibly healthy, magnificent beauty no man could resist. I first saw her as a 17-year-old in The Disenchanted (1990) where her adolescent charm was carefully and craftily displayed by director Benoît Jacquot. Here Leconte concentrates on her strength of character.

Fanny Ardant’s Madame de Blayac is a Machiavellian mistress of love’s duplicity, very considerable like the Marquise de Merteuil from Perilous Liaisons and Valmont. Her performance compares favorably with that of Glenn Cessation and Annette Bening, respectively, although there is an earthy quality to Ardant that seems most realistic. Her character is also more vulnerable.

The sets are sumptuous without being artificially showy. The gray, high-topped wigs and the beaked-nosed masks at ball are charming and, along with the gilded attire, the caked makeup, etc., somehow suggest the lawful position of costume and personal hygiene circa 1784, reminding me that in those days people did not generally wear underpants or prefer showers.

Some bon mots:

“The soul of wit is to know one’s position.”

When asked by the king to say something witty about the king himself, Ponceludon returns: “The king is not a subject.” The king asks if this is not a (lowly) pun, but is assured that it is a “play on words.”

When Blayac discerns that Ponceludon is not entirely smitten with her, she responds, “Learn to mask your insincerity so that I may yield without dishonor.”

The film closes with a scene in England on a cliff overlooking the English channel. Bellegarde and another contemplate on the changes after the revolution: “Wit was the very air we breathed.” “Now the bloated rhetoric of Danton rules in set of wit.” Bellegarde’s hat is blown off by the wind. His companion remarks: “Better your hat than your head.”

By the contrivance, the subtitles (and this is usually not the case) are edifying, inventive and faithful enough, while comfortably brief, to have been done by a professional translator instead of by someone handy who is passably bilingual.

I never made it all the design through Randy Shilts’s book so I won’t presume to know whether this film did proper by Mr. Shilts. Simply set aside, this is tremendous drama. The patronizing statements about made-for-tv movies don’t apply here. The drama, sadly, comes from the accurate events that are depicted–the collective denial about the reality of AIDS as that disease first began appearing in the delighted and Haitian communities, the government’s (read “Ronald Reagan’s”) persistent indifference, the professional jealousy within the medical communities vying to be the first to identify the agent (the virus) that causes AIDS, and how human beings resist having their preconceived notions about life challenged (as when a group of blissful activists insists on keeping pleased bath houses originate even as it became apparent that AIDS was spread through sexual contact) . This movie really took me succor twenty years to when I first read a short article buried somewhere in the middle of the Novel York Times about a gay-related cancer itsy-bitsy realizing how remarkable my life would change from that point onward.

The performances across the board are astronomical. I was especially impressed by Matthew Modine (I’ve liked him since “Birdy” and I like to notice him obtain meaty roles as here), Alan Alda (not the likable mensch from MASH), Ian McClellan, B.D. Wong, and Phil Collins (who knew? ) .

Aside from some cast biographies this DVD has no other “extras”. Nor does it need any.

This made-for-HBO movie definitely transcends the “disease of the week” genre that it’s fragment of. Based on the book by Randy Shilts, it chronicles the struggle of science vs. politics vs. morality in the early days of the AIDS crisis. Our point of concept character is Dr. Don Francis (Matthew Modine), a passionate young scientist with the Centers for Disease Control. He and his colleagues, both at the CDC and France’s Pasteur Institute, seem to be the only ones who remember that there are precise people dying of this mysterious disease. Dr. Robert Gallo (Alan Alda) is one of the few human “villians” of the share, more alive to in writing himself into the history of the disease than in helping anyone. Two other vital performances are those of Lily Tomlin as the tough, no-nonsense Dr. Selma Dritz) and Ian McKellan as Congressional aide Bill Krause, who as allotment of San Francisco’s joyful community, is in the epicenter of the crisis.

Watching this movie, I got very furious. The blood banks, for example, were more vexed about money than lives. One of the best scenes in the movie is where Dr. Francis stands up at a meeting and screams at reps from the blood industry, “How many wearisome hemophiliacs do you need? ” before they do something about it. (That was a reenactment of a staunch outburst, not a fictional event.) An slay title tells us that “By the time President Reagan made his first speech on AIDS, 25,000 people had died.” Between events like these and Gallo’s blatant scientific misconduct, it’s hard to avoid being incensed.

Buy,Download, Or Stream And the Band Played On! Click Here

The acting is edifying, especially Modine and Alda, who even watch a dinky like the men they’re playing. Modine brings an amazing amount of passion and frustration to Dr. Francis. I especially like McKellan’s character, an older joyful man who is not a stereotype. Several familiar character actors exhibit up as supporting players, and some very illustrious faces (Steve Martin, Richard Gere, Phil Collins, Swoosie Kurtz, and Anjelica Huston) effect cameo appearances.

If you’re looking for something light and fluffy, this is not the movie for you. If you want something that will gain you contemplate, with some fair acting and a realistic script, this is for you. (See this, then go read Shilts’ book.)

I’ve loved Ergo Proxy, ever since it came out support in 2006. The art is extremely well done, and the soundtrack is lush and futuristic. I would state this series at the top of my favored anime list. I did not rep a chance to experience the dubbing as I tend to recognize my anime with subtitles. I will say that the translation of the subtitles can be a tad bit spotty in parts, with examples of Engrish popping up occasionally. Not something to be concerned about, as it will not distract the viewer too powerful from titillating the epic. The label seems very reasonable for the quality of the series. 5 stars.
